Synopsis
Through the author’s personal voice, moving between the Neolithic houses of Vinča, the family home in Prijedor, and the current home in Brussels, the film weaves together the archaeology of home and the autobiography of belonging into a hybrid documentary journey, placing the home at the center of this process. Home emerges as a space between memory and dreams, continually rebuilt, abandoned, and imagined. At once a site of resistance and refuge.
This poetic documentary combines a reflective narrative, archival and contemporary images, intricate sound design, and philosophical fragments, creating an atmospheric journey through the phenomenology of home. The ordinary home, the quiet, primary place of belonging and personal renewal, often insufficiently responsive to the ways collective history and culture are recorded, is brought into focus. Domiton is a meditation on our unextinguished need to think about our home.
